Edinburgh, the nineteenth century. A world of shadows and invisible women.

Dr Jekyll returns to Auld Reekie a respectable physician. At first, his good friend and lawyer, Mr Utterson, is elated by the news. Yet on reuniting with the Doctor, Utterson can't help but suspect that something is amiss in the Jekyll household...

The doctor's health is deteriorating, his former recklessness replaced by religious zeal. What secret knowledge is the Butler hiding, and who is the evasive and unpleasant new lab assistant, Mr Hyde?

Events soon take a turn for the worse, when long-caged devils are finally unleashed.
